Risk Analysis

Comprehensive risk identification, frequency-severity analysis, and projected loss modeling. We evaluate risk avoidance, diversification, retention, and transfer strategies — delivering actionable recommendations tailored to each project's unique risk profile.

Frequency & Severity Loss Projection Risk Mitigation

Scope of Analysis

  • Risk identification and classification (construction, operational, natural catastrophe, financial)
  • Frequency and severity analysis of potential loss events
  • Loss ratio projection and expected maximum loss (EML) estimation
  • Natural disaster exposure assessment — typhoon, earthquake, flood, landslide
  • Supply chain and business interruption risk evaluation

Deliverables

  • Risk register with prioritized risk matrix
  • Risk avoidance / diversification / retention strategy recommendations
  • Risk transfer (insurance) optimization plan
  • Loss scenario modeling and financial impact analysis
  • Benchmarking against comparable domestic and international projects
Applicable to: All PF and infrastructure projects — renewable energy (solar, wind, hydrogen, fuel cell), roads, tunnels, ports, power plants, industrial facilities, and BTL/PPP projects.
02

Insurance Document Review

Thorough review of all project-related agreements to identify insurance obligations, risk allocation between parties, and coverage requirements — ensuring alignment between financing conditions and insurance programs.

Loan Agreements EPC Contracts Risk Allocation

Documents Reviewed

  • Implementation Agreement (IA) — government/concessionaire obligations
  • Loan Agreement / Credit Facility — insurance covenants and conditions precedent
  • EPC Contract — contractor insurance obligations, indemnification, liquidated damages
  • O&M Contract — operator insurance requirements and liability caps
  • Shareholders' Agreement — sponsor insurance responsibilities
  • Offtake / PPA agreements — force majeure and insurance provisions

Review Focus Areas

  • Insurance obligation mapping across all project parties
  • Risk and liability allocation between sponsors, contractors, lenders, and operators
  • Indemnification clauses and insurance requirement consistency
  • Gap analysis between contractual requirements and actual coverage
  • Lender's insurance covenant compliance verification
  • Cross-referencing insurance schedules with contract annexes
Why it matters: Insurance gaps in project contracts can jeopardize financial close and expose lenders to uninsured losses. Our document review ensures every party's obligations are clearly defined, adequately insured, and bankability-ready.
03

Frequently Asked Questions

A Lender's Insurance Advisor independently reviews and advises on insurance programs on behalf of financial institutions in project finance transactions. We ensure that the coverage meets loan covenant requirements and adequately protects the lender's collateral and revenue stream.
We advise on a wide range of project finance and infrastructure investments including solar PV, onshore/offshore wind, hydrogen/ESS, LNG terminals, gas-fired power plants, toll roads, bridges, ports, airports, and PPP social infrastructure projects.
Ideally during the development or pre-financial close phase. Early engagement allows us to structure insurance requirements into the financing documents and identify potential coverage issues before they impact the project timeline. However, we also advise on operational-phase projects and renewals.
We assign a dedicated claims specialist who coordinates with loss adjusters, insurers, and reinsurers on your behalf. From initial notification through settlement, we manage the entire process to protect project timelines and ensure lender reporting obligations are met.
Fee structures vary by engagement type. Lender's advisory mandates are typically project-based fees. Brokerage services earn commissions from insurers at no cost to the client. We discuss and agree on the appropriate fee structure during the initial consultation based on scope and complexity.
